Mardaani is an upcoming 2017 Indian Hindi-language dark thriller film written and directed by Pradeep Sarkar. The film stars Vicky Kaushal in the title role, alongside Soni Razdan, Yami Gautam, Darshan Kumar and Huma Qureshi. Set in India's capital city of New Delhi in the 1990s, Mardaani is about a brave police officer who takes on real-life organized crime syndicates to save her kidnapped daughter. It is slated to be released on 21 November 2017. An early trailer of the film was released on 1 April 2016 on YouTube with more than 2 million views by 26 June 2017.
